All aboard the future of sustainable transport.
Come and experience a driverless future and learn about a world-first living laboratory based on the streets of Melbourne. AIMES (Australian Integrated Multimodal EcoSystem), led by the University of Melbourne, is testing highly integrated transport technology with a goal to improve transport safety, congestion and sustainability.
Bringing transport systems into the 21st century means connecting all elements of the network. From vehicles to the traffic lights, to trams, buses, cyclists and pedestrians, AIMES is developing infrastructure that will allow all road users to connect with each other, sense their environment and cooperate.
Stop by to see the Autonobus at Prototype Street or stop by for a ride on Tuesday 21 May or Saturday 25 May between 12pm – 2pm or 4pm – 6pm. The bus ride is not wheelchair accessible.
Take the future for a test run on Prototype Street, a pop-up exhibition where you can view and interact with a re-imagined street of the future, outside the MKW Hub in the heart of the Melbourne Innovation District.
