One day Four Pillars Gin founder and distiller Cameron Mackenzie thought, “What would happen if we combined our Rare Dry Gin with some of the best Shiraz grapes in Australia?” And the answer was the innovative Bloody Shiraz Gin.
There’s incredible climate fruit available in Victoria so, after this flash of inspiration in 2015, the Yarra Valley distillery steeped local Shiraz grapes in high-proof Rare Dry Gin for eight weeks. Then they pressed the fruit to release a deep purple gin, with a sweetness straight from the ripe grapes. A total first in the world of gin.
