If knowledge is a place, how do I get there?
Knowledge is a place – so come and be a part of Melbourne’s collective genius. Grimshaw Architects have transformed the Meat Market into a giant installation, a Festival Hub alive with history and crackling with possibilities. Interact with cutting-edge exhibits, taste the future of food, and expand your mind with our huge program of talks, workshops, film and performance.
The Café opens 9.30am daily. Enjoy local food and Market Lane coffee, meet a friend for lunch, or just smash out some work between workshops. Wifi, good vibes and inspirational décor all included.
As dusk falls, the Courtyard Bar clicks into gear. Unwind with a Moon Dog brew under the beautiful, tessellated canopy – and recharge before exploring the program of night-time events.
Foodies and futurists, reserve your seat today in the Hub Restaurant. Book a date night to remember at one of four exclusive dinner experiences: an edible tour of food technology, a zero waste banquet, an Indigenous foods showcase and a vegetarian feast.
Of course, there’s more to food than fine dining – and all week long the Food Innovation Hub showcases new approaches to urban agriculture, food waste and farming. Stop by to see how organisations like Farmwall, Reground, Wormlovers, Life Cycle and We Eat Local are helping build a better food system.
And if that doesn’t whet your appetite, the Hub is your destination for keynote events including the Opening Night Gala and Afterparty, Melbourne Tech Showcase, Byte Into It RRR Live Broadcast, Food Fighter film screening, The Long Now: Planning a 10,000 Year Future for Human Knowledge and Hear My Eyes: Baraka + Live Score by Dylan Martorell.
This May, knowledge is a place – and everyone’s invited. So drop a pin here and start planning your big week in the MKW Festival Hub.
